Important Update
For those interested in certification and re-certification please watch this important video on upcoming changes.
Updated requirements will go into effect on November 1, 2025. They will apply to:
• Anyone currently in the process of becoming certified
• Anyone beginning the certification process on or after November 1, 2025
If you’re seeking recertification, you’re welcome to begin using the new process immediately—provided you and your consultant agree. After November 1, 2025, the new standards will be required for all recertifications.
BECOME A BSP CERTIFIED PRACTITIONER
Requirements for Certification

Completion of Brainspotting phase 1 and 2 trainings in person or online

A minimum of 6 hours of 1:1 consultation from a Brainspotting Trainer or Brainspotting Consultant. The sessions include a formal review of the applicant’s BSP skills, documented on a consultation form*

Fifty (50) hours of practice with BSP utilising a variety of setups, each session documented on Session Form supplied in below folder

Certification to be reviewed and Awarded by Brainspotting Trainings, LLC

Payment of a USD 150 certification fee to Brainspotting Trainings, Inc. (Certification is to be reviewed and awarded by Brainspotting Trainings, Inc.)
*Please note group consultation is to inform your practice but does not replace the required 1:1 consultation hours for certification. Certification requires 1:1 certification sessions as it is competency and case study based.

Renew your
BSP Certification
Requirements

Every two years a Certified Practitioner must go through the renewal process to retain Certified status.
Requirements for Re-Certification

Documentation of 100 Client Hours

One (1) hour of Consultation with a Brainspotting Consultant/ Expert

Payment of $100 Processing Fee (along with completed form below)

Next Intake
Our next intake for BSP Consultant training is currently intended to be in 2025/26.
Whether training is provided will depend on many factors including the need for additional Consultants in this geographical region - currently we have sufficient Consultants for this geographical region.
Expressions of Interest to Become a BSP Consultant
EOI’s to become a BSP Consultant will be available to submit closer to 2025/26.
To become a Consultant you will need to demonstrate a passion for Brainspotting and consistently contribute in building BSP in this region.
Only BSP Consultants that have been trained by a BSP Training Hub Trainer or Affiliated Trainer, can be included in our Find A Practitioner Page.
